We are ONE GATOR NATION!

Our History

Sitting amid sprawling agriculture fields, Lake Cormorant Middle services the delta region of DeSoto County and relieves overcrowding in both the Hernando and Horn Lake areas. Given its wide attendance zone, Lake Cormorant serves a broad community rich in diversity. The school was opened in July 2006 and was the first school built as part of the Lake Cormorant Schools complex. After its opening, it was proceeded by Lake Cormorant Elementary and Lake Cormorant High. From a list of mascot candidates, the community voted and the Gator became the official mascot for Lake Cormorant Schools in 2006.
